PULLMAN, Wash. — Area elementary students will have the opportunity to make their own Native American crafts at the Washington State University Museum of Anthropology’s Children’s Day, 10-11:30 a.m. Saturday, April 25.
The workshop will include a guided tour of the new exhibit that focuses on Native American uses of marsh plants. Children will view a hands-on display of modern Native American crafts and an exhibit of ancient archaeological textiles from the Palouse region.
Children will have a chance to make either a doll or a toy boat out of cattails similar to those used by some Native American children.
Enrollment is limited and attendance is by reservation only. For more information, contact the museum at 335-3441 between 8 a.m. and noon, and 1-5 p.m. Monday through Friday to reserve a spot.
