WSU Sets Burroughs Wellcome Professor Visit for April 10

PULLMAN, Wash. — Ronald Borchardt, chair of pharmaceutical chemistry at the University of Kansas, will be the Burroughs Wellcome Visiting Professor in the College of Pharmacy at Washington State University next week.
He will deliver a public lecture, “Pharmaceutical Sciences in the 21st Century: Important Scientific and Educational Issues,” on Friday, April 10, at noon in Wegner Hall, Room G-50. A reception will precede the event at 11:30 a.m. in Wegner G-55.
Borchardt also will present a research seminar Thursday, April 9, at 4 p.m. in Wegner G-1 and meet with graduate and professional students to discuss career opportunities April 10 at 3 p.m. in Wegner G-55.
Winner of the 1997 Distinguished Pharmaceutical Scientist Award from the American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists, Borchardt has focused his research program on oral drug delivery, protein stability and DNA methylation.
Borchardt’s visit is being coordinated by WSU Professor Ming Hu .
