WSU’s Summer Palace Calls for Auditions March 30 and April 1

PULLMAN, Wash. — Auditions for 1998 Summer Palace’s full-time theater company performers and technicians are planned for Monday and Wednesday, March 30 and April 1 on the Washington State University campus.
The 7-9 p.m. auditions are set for Daggy Hall’s Wadleigh Theatre.
Auditions should include a serious or comic monologue and a song, not to exceed six minutes. The monologue does not have to be memorized. Those auditioning should bring a cassette tape for accompaniment or sing a capella.
The summer’s offerings include the comic Gilbert and Sullivan opera “The Sorcerer,” set for June 26-27, July 2-3 and 10-11, and “The Mikado,” on stage July 17-18, 24-25 and 31-Aug. 1.
Stipend for the season is $1,000. Daily work schedules usually run from 1-5 p.m. and 7-10 p.m. Monday through Friday. On Saturday, the schedule is 9 a.m.-noon and 1-4 p.m. Company members are expected to participate in both productions and in more than one capacity.
