WSU College of Sciences Awards Minigrants for 1997-98

PULLMAN, Wash. — The College of Sciences at Washington State University has announced the 1997-98 winners of its annual Student Research Minigrant awards. The $200 grants support creative research efforts by undergraduate and graduate science majors.
Graduate students who received the award are David Benson, zoology; Steven Garvis, microbiology; Tsuiping Hsu, biology; Jason Koontz, botany; Stephen Kuehn, geology; Michelle Mabry, zoology; Michelle McMahon, botany; Stephen Mech, zoology; Ujwala Ranade, botany; Sally Simmons, environmental science and regional planning; Steven Vigil, physics, and Michael Zanis, botany.
Undergraduate recipients are Daniel Abbott, zoology; Christopher Breckon, physics; Anne Senters, botany; and Sharon Thomson, zoology.
The selection committee was composed of undergraduate students David Fassler, environmental science and regional planning; and Keri Paulson, zoology; graduate students Donna Pierce, math; and Linda Cook, botany; and Associate Dean Ron Brosemer.
