PULLMAN, Wash.–Feminist author and social critic Naomi Wolf will discuss her most recent book, “Promiscuities: The Secret Struggle for Womanhood,” during a March 3 program on the Washington State University campus.
The lecture is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. in the WSU Compton Union Building Ballroom and is open to the public without charge. Wolf’s most recent book “reveals the secrets of our coming of age: the sexual games, forbidden crushes, losses of virginity and rites of initiation.”
Wolf took on the beauty industry in 1991 with her international best-seller, “The Beauty Myth,” and in 1993, published her second international best-seller, “Fire with Fire: The New Female Power,” that deals with politics and new opportunities for female empowerment.
Wolf is a Yale University graduate and former Rhodes scholar. In 1994, she was named one of America’s 50 most promising leaders under age 40 by “Time” magazine and was also one of “Glamour” magazine’s Women of the Year.
Her work has appeared in national publications such as “The New Republic,” “The Wall Street Journal,” “Ms.,” “Glamour” and “The New York Times.”
A reception and book-signing will follow the lecture.
