WSU Business Degree Offered in Walla Walla

PULLMAN, Wash.–Washington State University will offer courses next month to Walla Walla area residents interested in earning a bachelor’s degree in business administration.
The program, made available through cooperation with Walla Walla Community College, will enable individuals to complete the junior and senior years of the degree without coming to a WSU campus. Courses will be delivered in a number of ways including interactive video-conferencing, the Internet, videotape and traditional print-based correspondence.
An open public information session about the program will be held at Walla Walla Community College on Tuesday, Dec. 9 at 7 p.m. in the Back Dining Room of the Main Administration Building. The discussion will focus on entrance requirements and the admission process, financial aid possibilities, academic advising, course offerings and student support services.
Admission to the program and WSU’s spring semester, which begins Jan. 12, is now open. For the spring semester, two courses will be delivered via a new video-conferencing system: Finance 325 and Marketing 360. The finance course will meet on Monday evenings from 5:45 to 8:30 p.m. and the Marketing course on Wednesdays from 4:15 to 7 p.m. in Walla Walla Community College’s video-conferencing classroom. In addition, a number of other courses supporting the degree will be available in other distance learning formats.
The new business program will build on WSU’s successful distance degree in social sciences. It has been endorsed by the WSU faculty senate and the WSU Board of Regents and is expected to receive approval from the state’s Higher Education Coordinating Board early next year.
Further information about the program can be obtained from the office of Extended Degree Programs at 1-800/222-4WSU (4978), the College of Business and Economics at 1-800/420-8207, or WSU’s web site at .
