WSU Plans 7th Annual Math Day

PULLMAN, Wash.- More than 300 high school students from Washington and Idaho are expected to participate in Washington State University’s 7th annual Math Day Oct. 23 on the WSU campus.
The event, filled with individual and team competition for high school students from more than 30 schools, is designed to promote interest in mathematics, as well as to reward excellence in the field. A program for teachers also will be available.
Activities begin at 8:30 a.m., with team competitions starting at 11:20 a.m. Highlighting the day-long event will be the award of WSU scholarships and the announcement of the Outstanding Teacher of the Year, honoring a public school math teacher.
Schools participating in the event are: Bellevue, Clarkston, Clearwater Valley, Columbia, Connell, Deer Park, DeSales, Freeman, Garfield-Palouse, Jenkins, Kendrick, Kennewick, Lakeside, Lewis and Clark, Liberty, Mead, Moses Lake, Mt. Rainier, Nez Perce, Orville, Pasco, Potlatch, Pullman, Puyallup, Rogers, Sandpoint, St. John-Endicott, Thomas Jefferson, University, Walla Walla, Wapato, Washington and Wilson Creek.
