PULLMAN, Wash.–The historical roots of the recent conflict in Bosnia is the topic of a lecture next week on the Washington State University campus by Charles Jelavich, professor emeritus at Indiana University, Bloomington.
The talk, titled “From Sarajevo (1914) to Sarajevo (1992),” is set for 7:30 p.m. Monday, Sept. 29, in Room 276 of Todd Hall. A reception will follow.
Jelavich has authored or co-authored more than 50 books on the former Yugoslavia and Balkans region. He has lectured at universities and institutions throughout the United States and Europe.
The lecture, sponsored by the history department, is open to the public without charge.
