DePauw Accepts Nomination

PULLMAN, Wash.–Karen DePauw, Washington State University’s associate vice provost for academic affairs and professor of kinesiolgy and leisure studies, has accepted nomination for membership in the American Academy of Kinesiology and Physical Education.
DePauw will be inducted into the academy at its annual banquet in Bloomingdale, Ill., on Sept. 13.
A WSU faculty member since 1980, DePauw was appointed associate dean of the Graduate School in 1989. Before coming to WSU, she taught in Los Angeles public schools and served on the faculty at California State University.
DePauw earned her doctoral degree from Texas Woman’s University, a master’s from California State University, Long Beach, and her bachelor’s degree from Whittier College in California.
The American Academy of Kinesiology and Physical Education, founded in 1930, is composed of individuals who have made significant contributions to kinesiology and physical education.
