WSU Professors Join Hotel Research Alliance Team

PULLMAN, Wash. — Washington State University professors Denney Rutherford and Chris Paxson have been invited to join a research alliance initiated by the Educational Institute of the American Hotel and Motel Association. Both are faculty in the College of Business and Economics’ Hotel and Restaurant Administration Program.
The association — whose members are major American hotel companies — is funding research in human resources management, technology development and legal issues. The specific studies to be undertaken were developed by representatives from the participating schools during March meetings in Washington, D.C.
Rutherford and Paxson will participate in research projects with teams of representatives from 11 other hospitality schools, including Cornell, University of Nevada-Las Vegas, Penn State, Michigan State, Florida International University, Florida State and the University of Delaware.
