Architects of Air return to Washington State University September 24-27, with PENTALUM, a luminarium by Alan Parkinson, on Grimes Way Playfield. Event is hosted by the Washington State University Student Entertainment Board.
Luminaria are monumental inflatable sculptures people enter to be moved to a sense of wonder at the beauty of light and color. These maze-like structures are built from a thin PVC plastic that filters light to the interior and creates an awe inspiring experience with color. PENTALUM is a luminarium designed to celebrate the beauty of geometry, and the pentagon is the base for its main structure elements. PENTALUM covers the span of half the size of a football field and is three stories tall at its highest point.
Tickets are only $5 at the door. Online pre-sale ends September 18. A limited number of tickets are $5 online- and allow you to bypass the general admission line at the door. Children 2 and under are free at the door. WSU students can pick up a free student pass at various campus locations while supplies last, that will waive the general admission fee at the door.
