Join the WSU Student Alumni Ambassadors at the Lewis Alumni Centre for the 28th annual Holiday Celebration! This is the perfect way to kick off the holiday season, with fun activities for the entire family to enjoy. A new exhibit at WSU Libraries, “The Case of the 12-year-old Sheriff Killer: Herbert Niccolls and the Washington Justice System,” opens Wednesday, Nov. 18, with a reception from 3:30 to 5 p.m. in Manuscripts, Archives and Special Collections on the ground floor of Terrell Library. Catching the winter blues? Studies show that exercise is a great way to stay upbeat and healthy during the darker days.  Starting November 15, faculty and staff can purchase a prorated fall semester UREC membership, valid until December 31, for just $100. A membership provides not only full access to the SRC and the new Down Under Fitness Center, but members also receive discounts on activities like ORC trips, fitness classes and rental shop gear. Rock climbing, rock music and rocking Movember! Ever wanted to be both an ’80s rock star and a rock climber in the same day? Come down to the SRC climbing wall in your favorite rock star get-up on Thursday, Nov. 19 from 6-8 p.m. Throw on some sweet wigs and/or facial hair and fun temporary tattoos before you ascend the wall. This event is free and open to all SRC members.  Rock the Rock is part of Movember, a month-long event that focuses on men’s health.  For more information visit http://urec.wsu.edu/special-events/movember/

Interested in trying out a yoga class? The SRC is offering a Movember special for a free yoga class in the lounge next to the basketball courts on November 16. Participants may show up to the class at any time during the hour from 8 to 9 p.m.

The Pullman Cashiers Office will be implementing a new cashiering system on November 17.  Due to this implementation, cashiering services will be closed at 3:30 p.m. on November 16.  The cashiers will reopen at 8 a.m. on November 17.

Also as of November 16, the Cashier’s Office will no longer be cashing checks except for students receiving Regents/Robinson emergency loans and departments requesting petty cash. (more…)

The WSU Technology Test Kitchen is covering Lightboard and Panopto this week. All sessions are an hour long in Holland 150 at WSU Pullman.

Lightboard is a glass surface that lets you face your students while writing during media pieces. (Here’s a one-minute video.) The Lightboard workshops are 3 p.m. Nov. 16, and 2 p.m. Nov. 18. No registration required. (more…)

Endzone tickets are only $10 (limit 8 per employee).  Tickets must be purchased in person with valid WSU ID.  Employees at branch campuses can call 1-800-GO-COUGS and the ticket office will verify employment. Available while supplies last.

Summer 2016 schedule of class is open for initial proofing and will be closing Tuesday, December 1. Courses that are not approved by December 1 will not be assigned a room until final proofing opens in January. Courses that have a pre-assigned room (capacity of 100 or greater) will lose their room if the course is not approved by December 1. (more…)
