The inaugural Student Affairs Recognition Ceremony will recognize some of the important contributions to the Division of Student Affairs’ mission.  The event will take place on Tuesday, March 29, in the Compton Union Building’s Senior Ballroom from noon-2 p.m.  All staff within the Division of Student Affairs are encouraged to attend.  Hors d’oeuvres and refreshments will be served. The Washington State University Common Reading Program hosts Patricia Kuzyk on “An Economist’s Perspective on ‘Just Mercy’” Mon., March 21, at 4:30 p.m. in CUE 203.

Kuzyk will discuss economic incentives and arguments present within several practices in the U.S. criminal justice system.  She plans to examine the negatives of capital punishment and some of the deep flaws in our criminal justice system from an economic perspective. Kuzyk is a clinical assistant professor in the School of Economic Sciences and the WSU Honors College. (more…)
