Legacy of the Columbia River Fishery, Department of Anthropology

Please join us next Thursday, Sept. 11, at 4:30 p.m. in College Hall 125 for a public talk by Irene Martin entitled the “Legacy of the Columbia River Fishery”. The talk will be followed by the exhibit opening of the Legacy of the Columbia River Fishery in the Museum of Anthropology, first floor, College Hall from 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. The Legacy of the Columbia River Fishery is an award winning traveling exhibit on Columbia River Commercial fishing, both tribal and non-tribal, historical and present-day. The exhibit was written by Irene Martin, the foremost historian of the Columbia River fishery, and winner of the 2013 Washington State Historical Society David Douglas Fellowship Award in recognition of the Legacy exhibit. The Museum of Anthropology will augment the exhibition with items from its collection and those borrowed from Irene Martin and other sources.
