India–USA COMPACT Town Hall with Congressman Michael Baumgartner and Consul General Prakash Gupta

Students, faculty, and staff are warmly invited to attend a special town hall featuring Prakash Gupta, consul general of India in Seattle, and U.S. Congressional Representative Michael Baumgartner.

The discussion will focus on the India–USA COMPACT (Catalyzing Opportunities for Military Partnership, Accelerated Commerce & Technology) and its significance in strengthening the strategic partnership between the United States and India in the 21st century.

The program will provide an opportunity for students, faculty, and staff to engage in a timely discussion about international collaboration in areas including technology, innovation, security, and economic partnership.

Following the town hall, attendees are invited to stay for an Indian food and film festival at the same venue.

About Consul General Prakash Gupta:
Mr. Gupta is a career diplomat with the Indian Foreign Service who has served in Beijing, Shanghai, Jakarta, and at India’s Mission to the United Nations in New York. Most recently in New Delhi, he helped steward India’s tenure on the UN Security Council (2021–22), contributed to planning for India’s G20 Summit, and played a key role in advancing the United Nations resolution establishing the International Day of Yoga. He currently leads India’s first consulate in Seattle as consul general.
