Disability and Intersectionality Book Club: A Virtual Book Club That Features Disability in Literature, Spring 2021.

The book chosen for the Spring 2021 semester is The Pretty One by Keah Brown. The Pretty One is a collection of essays exploring what it means to be black and disabled in a mostly able-bodied white America. The club generally meets the first Friday of each month through zoom and each discussion is hosted by WSU faculty, staff, or students.

Discussion Chapters 1-3: Friday, January 29; 4:00-5:00 pm

Discussion Chapters 4-6: Friday, February 19; 4:00-5:00 pm

Discussion Chapters 7-9: Friday, March 19; 4:00-5:00 pm

Discussion Chapters 10-12: Friday, April 16; 4:00-5:00 pm

Book Scholarship for Students

We are offering WSU students an opportunity to receive a free digital copy of each book. Digital book copies will be distributed to registered WSU students based on need and interest. Students who qualify for a free digital copy will be notified via email.

Willingness to participate in at least one of the scheduled virtual discussions in some manner
