On October 1, 2019, Washington State University (WSU) published the WSU Pullman Annual Security and Fire Report. The report is available at crci.wsu.edu/2019-2020-clery-report/. The WSU Pullman Annual Security and Fire Report is prepared in compliance with the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security and Crime Statistics Act (Clery Act). The Clery Act promotes campus safety and transparency about crimes and threats to health and safety. Information is provided to students, parents, employees, and the WSU Pullman community concerning public safety, fire safety, crime prevention, response efforts, crisis communication, and campus security, including education, prevention, and awareness efforts by the University to empower the WSU Pullman community to take an active role in personal safety and security. Statistics for reported crimes and fire occurring within the previous three calendar years, on the WSU Pullman campus, in certain off‑campus buildings or property owned or controlled by WSU, within a designated geographic area.
It is important to acknowledge that because the statistics in this report are very specifically defined by the Clery Act, they may vary from similar statistics maintained within other WSU offices authorized to receive reports of incidents implicating laws and WSU policies, such as the WSU Police Department, Office of Civil Rights Compliance and Investigation, Center for Community Standards, and Cougar Health Services, as well as the Pullman Police Department.
