Upcoming AFW events

The Association for Faculty Women (AFW) would like to invite you to three upcoming events in October and November. Please follow the instructions here for how to RSVP or email Brittany Cooper at brittany.cooper@wsu.edu

  • October 6 Career Mapping Workshop: Join us for lunch and an interactive workshop led by Drs. Leeann Hunter and Kelly Ward on how to transform the stories we tell about ourselves into a map to guide our careers. This event will be from 11:30 a.m. – 1 p.m. in the Bundy Reading Room (Avery 111) in Pullman. Cost is $10 for members and $15 for non-members.
  • October 17 Women in Film, Literature, & Arts: Join faculty and graduate students for a discussion led by Anna-Maria Shannon about the Contemporary Women Print Makers exhibit at the WSU Fine Art Museum, which is showing until Nov. 17. This event will be from noon-1 p.m. in the Bundy Reading Room (Avery 111) in Pullman. This is a free event open to all! Refreshments provided by the Graduate School & GPSA’s Professional Development Initiative.
  • November 2 President Schulz Reception: Save the date for a reception to be hosted by President Schulz for active AFW members. This event will be from 5-6:30 p.m., location TBD. A separate invitation from the President’s Office will be sent to all active AFW members. You can click here to to update your AFW membership for the 2017-18 academic year in order to be included. Yearly dues are $20 for continuing members and $15 for new members.

Reusable containers a hit with students and the environment

Since the service was implemented, the reusable containers program has saved almost 65,000 single-use containers and over 6,000 pounds of waste from the landfill, nearly 42,000 gallons of water, and over 43,000 pounds of greenhouse gas emissions.
