Support WSU Student’s Run to Remember

Please join the Student Veterans Committee on Sunday, June 7, as we support PhD student Samantha Tjaden’s run to remember.

In April of 2007, Samantha Tjaden received word that no young wife and mother should hear; her husband, Army 1LT Gwilym Newman had been killed in action in Tarmiyah, Iraq.

Now a Criminal Justice Ph.D. student at Pullman’s Washington State campus, Tjaden will be honoring her husband by running her first marathon from Pullman to Troy, Idaho and back. Her run is sponsored by  Wear Blue, Run to Remember, a national non-profit committed to creating living tribute to America’s fallen. The organization has created a registration page with locations, approximate times, and social distancing requirements for the Moscow-Pullman community to show their support.
