Palouse Area Therapeutic Horsemanship (PATH), a community service program of the College of Veterinary Medicine, provides horseback riding lessons for people with physical, mental and emotional disabilities. PATH will begin its 2017 fall sessions Sept. 16. Classes are held Tuesday-Thursday evenings at 5:30 and 7 p.m.
The program is looking for volunteers. There will be an orientation meeting for new volunteers 5:30-7 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 29, in the Animal Disease Biotechnology Facility (ADBF) room 1002. No experience is necessary, but volunteers must be 16 years or older.
A training session for horse handlers will be at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 30, and a training session for side walkers at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 31. Trainings will be held at the barn and directions will be given at orientation.
PATH is supported by the United Way of Pullman, the United Way of Moscow/Latah County and other foundations, businesses and individuals.
