ITS Notice: All Zoom users must upgrade by May 30

All Zoom users must upgrade to the new Zoom 5.0 by May 30 in order to maintain the ability to join meetings.

To upgrade to Zoom 5.0, users must:

  1. Open their desktop Zoom client
  2. Select their profile image
  3. Select “Check for Updates”

Among other changes, Zoom 5.0 comes complete with several integral security improvements. Some key updates include:

  • AES 256-bit GCM encryption
  • An added “Report a User” feature
  • A new encryption icon that indicates whether or not a meeting is secure
  • Enhanced data center information
