New phishing email scheme mimics WSU VP & CHRO

Human Resource Services is alerting faculty and staff to a new phishing email circulating the WSU system, this one pretends to come from Theresa Elliot-Cheslek, VP & CHRO via Dropbox.

Please note that Theresa would not send files to employees via DropBox. If you receive this suspicious email, please do the following, forward the email to abuse@dropbox.com, and abuse@wsu.edu then delete the message.

This is an automated email from Dropbox using a fake account “telliot@wsu-hr.us” imitating Theresa Elliot-Cheslek. Individuals should not respond or click on any of the links. The email message shows as from “no-reply@dropbox.com” with the various subject lines, such as  “Your transfer from Theresa Elliot-Cheslek expires in 1 day” and “Reminder: Theresa Elliot-Cheslek sent you “Becu Members Benefits Approved.pdf”.

For further assistance or questions please contact your departmental IT support staff or the Crimson Service Desk at 509-335-HELP or crimsonservicedesk@wsu.edu.
