Friday 9:30 a.m.-1 p.m.: 2015 Summer Undergraduate Research Symposium

Fruit DNA, climate change, smart environments, and biofuels are just a few of the topics to be discussed at the 2015 Summer Undergraduate Research Symposium Friday, July 31 in the Smith Center for Undergraduate Education (CUE).

The event will feature poster presentations by nearly 80 students from universities across America, Brazil, and Puerto Rico. The students spent 10 weeks working on faculty-mentored research projects in many disciplines.

The Symposium schedule:

9:30 a.m., CUE 203:  A keynote address by Associate Dean of the WSU Graduate School and Associate Professor of Plant Pathology Lori Carris

10 a.m.-1 p.m., CUE Atrium:  The poster session, which is open to the public. Refreshments will be served.

The students’ summer research experience was supported by funding from from the National Science Foundation, the National Institutes of Health, the U.S.D.A., and faculty grants.
