FREE – Flamenco lunch hour with Latin Grammy Nominees Las Migas at Noon on Nov. 1

Join us for this free vocal and guitar demonstration at noon on Nov. 1 in Jones Theatre, Daggy Hall. You will be treated to a fusion of Spanish cultures that’s been described as “music for the soul.” Unique among Spanish music groups, Las Migas offer a fascinating blend of Flamenco and Mediterranean styles, combining classic and contemporary rhythms with melodies ranging from powerful to passionate to playful. The women of Las Migas come from four different cities—Barcelona, Sevilla, Cordoba, and Lerida—spanning not only Spain’s geography, but also its cultural diversity.  Las Migas are nominated for a 2017 Latin Grammy Award for Best Flamenco Album for their latest release, “Vente Conmigo.” Awards will be announced at a ceremony broadcast by Univision Nov. 16. This event is presented with Global Connections and will be livestreamed to WSU’s Global Campus.

The Spanish quartet will perform a full concert in Jones on Wednesday, Nov. 1, at 7:30 p.m. Reserved seating costs $18 adults, $15 seniors (ages 60 and up) and $9 non-WSU students and youth. WSU student admission is free with valid ID. A discounted rate of $14 per person is available to groups of eight or more.

Tickets are on sale now at all TicketsWest outlets, including online at TicketsWest.com, by phone at 800-325-SEAT, and in person at WSU’s Beasley Coliseum (open 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday through Friday) and the Rosauers Supermarket in Lewiston, Idaho. Advance tickets are subject to convenience charges unless purchased at the Beasley Coliseum ticket office. The Daggy Hall box office opens for ticket sales and will-call beginning two hours before the performance.
