First-Year Student Leadership Certificate applications open

Student Involvement invites all first-year students to apply to the Emerging Leaders program, Washington State University’s largest leadership certificate program. Applications for spring 2018 are open until Jan. 14.

Emerging Leaders focuses on the Social Change Model,  which helps students better understand themselves and others in order to develop effective leadership skills and create community change.

The Emerging Leadership certificate gives first-year students the opportunity to attend a leadership weekend Jan. 26 – 28 and core workshops throughout the semester. Workshops cover subjects to help students identify their strengths and personal leadership style, including communication, motivation, time and stress management, financial well-being and more.
