Dad’s Weekend Activities

Share all that University Recreation has to offer with your dad over Dad’s Weekend. From November 3-5 University Recreation has planned a slate of activities for you and your dad to enjoy.

The programs will provide students and their parents with the opportunity to spend quality time together while being active at the same time. Dads will also have free access to the SRC and Chinook all weekend as long as they are with a UREC member or student.

Details on Dad’s Weekend

  • Start the weekend with a scenic hike at one of our area parks, Kamiak Butte. This 3.1-mile group hike will give you views of the rolling hills of the Palouse at sunset. The hike will start at 2 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 3.
  • Dads can test their strength and impress their student in the Dads Best Bench Competition Friday, at 6 p.m. The competition will take place in the SRC lower weight room and registration is open up to the start of the event
  • Reach the highest heights Saturday, Nov. 4 with a climb alongside your dad. The SRC climbing wall will have an open climb from 10 a.m. – noon where instructors will help you get to the top.
  • Your dad being in town isn’t an excuse to miss a workout, take him to a CrossFit class while he’s in town. WSU CrossFit is hosting a class for students and their dads from 10-11 a.m. in Chinook B40 Saturday.
  • Try something new and make memories with WSU’s Challenge program. The Dad’s Weekend Challenge Course event will start with group games and participants will also have the opportunity to climb on the high course. This event will run twice on Saturday, with one starting at 10 a.m. and the second at 12:30 p.m. Both will last two hours and costs $12 a person
  • End Dad’s Weekend with a relaxing yoga session. UREC will be holding a beginning yoga class from 9:30-10:30 a.m. Sunday at SRC 256.
