The university’s NCAA Self-study Certification Committee has accepted reports from its subcommittees and has presented those findings to President V. Lane Rawlins.
“WSU takes great pride in the quality of its athletics programs,” said Rom Markin, committee chairman, “from their sound administration to the positive impact of intercollegiate sports competition on our student athletes.”
Markin will present the self-study at the Board of Regents meeting, beginning 9 a.m. Friday, Nov. 22, at Lewis Alumni Centre.
Drafts are available for review on the NCAA Self-study Certification website at www.ncaastudy.wsu.edu/nshome.asp. The final report will be edited, for-matted and put in completed draft by James Roche, director of Institutional Research.
The final written report of the committee, as a whole, must arrive at NCAA National Headquarters by Dec. 3. In February an on-site visitation by the NCAA peer review team will occur, and they will spend three days examining documentation supporting the certification effort, interviewing subcommittee chairs, sub-committee members, athletic administrators, coaches, staff and other university staff.
