PULLMAN — Washington State University will begin welcoming new and returning students when the residence halls at the Pullman campus open Sunday, Aug. 14.
Residence halls will open for fall semester move-in from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, and will be open daily throughout the week. WSU staff and faculty members will be available to lend a hand to students and their parents as they get settled in.
Fall orientation for new students who did not attend an Alive! orientation session during the summer will be held from Aug. 14-16.
The university’s annual Week of Welcome gets under way Aug. 17. A complete listing of all Week of Welcome activities is available at http://www.nsp.wsu.edu/orientation/week-of-welcome.html .
WSU Provost Robert Bates and Pullman Mayor (and Murrow School professor) Glenn Johnson will welcome new students to the WSU community at a convocation to be held at 7 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 18, at Beasley Coliseum. Steve Birdine, author and CEO of Affirmations in Action, will be the featured speaker. A reception will follow on the concourse, giving students a chance to meet faculty members from various colleges and departments. Refreshments will be served.
The All-Campus Picnic will be held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday, Aug. 19, at Grimes Way Field. The event is free to all holding a valid WSU ID card.
Fall classes begin at all four WSU campuses on Monday, Aug. 22.
