Honors commencement features investment exec

PULLMAN – Stephen Sundquist, retired managing director of national accounts and chief information officer for Frank Russell Investment Group, will be the guest speaker at the fall 2006 Washington State University Honors College commencement reception. It is scheduled for 4 p.m. Friday, Dec. 8, in the lounge of Honors Hall on the Pullman campus.

Two Honors students, seniors Inga Zornes and Chelsea Bloomberg, will be the featured musicians for the event. Zornes is a WSU Distinguished Regents Scholar and will graduate in WSU ceremonies Dec. 9 with a degree in music education. The Wenatchee native is one of nine students to be specially highlighted for their excellence by WSU President V. Lane Rawlins at graduation ceremonies.

Sundquist received a bachelor’s degree in computer science from WSU in 1979, and serves on the Honors Advisory Council as well as on the WSU Board of Trustees. He assists in recruiting students for Honors, and supports diversity efforts at WSU.

With an MBA from the University of Chicago, Sundquist worked as the managing director of national accounts for the Frank Russell Investment Group. Now retired, he is a self-employed consultant. He lives in Seattle with his family.
