First Generation Graduate Student Seminar Series

The David G. Pollart Center for Arts and Humanities is organizing its annual First-Generation Graduate Students Seminar Series. The objective of this series is to provide First-Gen grad students and/or First-Gen international grad students (international students who are first in their families to attend college or international students who are first in their families to come to the US to attend college) with a space where they can share the challenges that they are facing in graduate school.

We are planning to meet four times during the Fall semester for two-hour informal discussions with a panel of facilitators. These meetings will take place 4:00-6:00 pm on Friday, October 2, October 9, October 16, and October 23 in the Bundy Reading Room, Avery Hall. We will also provide dinner for all the participants.

Please note that there is NO COST for participating in this series.

To participate, please complete this survey. We welcome you to sign up even if you cannot attend all 4 sessions. For any questions, please reach out at arts.humanities@wsu.edu.

This seminar series is open to all first-gen students at WSU Pullman irrespective of their disciplines. Please share this with your graduate students and colleagues.

The Notices and Announcements section is provided as a service to the WSU community for sharing events such as lectures, trainings, and other highly transactional types of information related to the university experience. Information provided and opinions expressed may not reflect the understanding or opinion of WSU. Accuracy of the information presented is the responsibility of those who submitted it. The self-uploaded posts are reviewed for compliance with state statutes and ethics guidelines but are not edited for spelling, grammar, or clarity.
