WSU kicks off third annual Apple Cup Food Pantry Challenge

The Apple Cup Food Pantry Challenge is on again for the third straight year, and Cougs everywhere have an opportunity to show their Cougar pride and support students on all six WSU campuses.

This is a friendly competition aimed at raising awareness and crucial funding for food pantries at both Washington State University and the University of Washington, and at driving engagement across both communities. Donations are being accepted now and will be counted until midnight on Sunday, Sept. 6. Every donation counts as a gift, and the university with the most gifts will be celebrated at the conclusion of the competition.

Throughout Washington, university students face food insecurity. During the 2024–2025 academic year, WSU campuses collectively facilitated over 58,000 student visits. You are encouraged to join the competition, challenge your family and friends to join, too, and keep WSU’s three-year winning streak going.
