- Part 2: Deepening Collaborative Research
Topic: “Understanding Tribal Consultation, Consent, and Tribal and Data Sovereignty”
Noon–1:30 p.m., Nov. 14, via Zoom
This session covers policies and protocols for Tribal consultation and consent in research and projects with Tribal partners, emphasizing mutual respect, cultural understanding, and adherence to Tribal sovereignty in joint WSU-Tribal activities. The session will also introduce the CARE Principles for Indigenous Data Governance, which are guidelines designed to ensure that data related to Indigenous peoples is managed in a way that respects their rights, culture, and sovereignty. This training builds on Part 1 (Foundations for Collaborative Research), and it is recommended that participants complete Part 1 beforehand.
