Friday, April 25, is the Bertha C. and Roy E. Leigh Distinguished Lecture in Economics. This year’s speaker will be Prof. Dean Karlan, from Northwestern University, co-director of the Global Poverty Research Lab at Northwestern University, former chief economist at USAID, and founder of Innovations for Poverty Action. His research focuses on microeconomic issues of poverty, typically using experimental methods to identify which social programs work at reducing poverty, which ones do not, and why. You can find more information about his research and projects on his website.
Leigh Lecture starts at 4:30 p.m. in CUE 203 on the Pullman campus.
