Possible UMP network disruption notice

HRS Benefits is aware that communications have been sent from Uniform Medical Plans about the status of the contacting efforts with some current UMP providers.

These sort of notices can be concerning and cause plan participants stress. Where Health Care Authority (HCA) cannot guarantee this issue will be resolved, historically contract issues normally are resolved with no disruption to coverage. HCA has provided the following news announcement for more information on this particular situation: Providence, Swedish, and Pacific Medical Centers possible departure from the UMP network. HCA will update that page as information becomes available.

Termination notices are governed by Office of the Insurance Commissioner regulations, and the notice UMP participants received is legally required to inform enrollees about the potential for an upcoming provider network change.

The parties are continuing to negotiate for a new network contract, and HCA will serve in a mediation type role, if needed. If an agreement is reached before termination actually occurs, enrollees will receive a follow-up communication from Regence.

The Notices and Announcements section is provided as a service to the WSU community for sharing events such as lectures, trainings, and other highly transactional types of information related to the university experience.
