The superintendent of WSU’s Palouse Ridge Golf Club has earned national recognition for environmental sustainability.

Michael Bednar was named first runner up for the Healthy Land Stewardship Award presented by the Golf Course Superintendents Association of America during its annual meeting last month in San Diego. The honor recognizes Bednar’s dedication to maintaining healthy ecosystems and prioritizing sustainable practices in ways that have set a new standard of excellence within the golf industry.

Located on the Pullman campus, Palouse Ridge is owned by the university but managed by CourseCo, the company WSU contracts with to manage course operations and maintenance.
