Washington State University Athletics Director Pat Chun was recently selected to serve on the College Football Playoff Selection Committee.

Chun was announced as an incoming member of the committee by CFP’s Management Committee earlier this month, with his three-year term slated to begin this spring. He is the second WSU leader in recent years to contribute their expertise to the College Football Playoff, with WSU President Kirk Schulz serving on its Board of Managers as representative of the Pac-12 Conference beginning in 2018.

Now in his sixth year at WSU. Chun is the university’s 14th director of athletics and holds the distinction of being the first Asian American athletics director of a Power Five conference school. He was honored with the Under Armor Athletic Director of the Year award in 2019, the first WSU leader to receive the accolade.

During his time at WSU, Chun has served on a number of national organizations, including co-founding the Asian American & Pacific Islander Athletics Alliance and serving on a number of NCAA committees. He currently sits on the NCAA Division 1 Council, co-chairs the Pac-12 ImPACt Leadership Council, and is president of the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics.

More information about Chun’s recent appointment is available on the WSU Athletics website.
