Kelley Westhoff, Washington State University’s Executive Director of Budget, Planning and Analysis has announced her retirement. Westhoff has served over 20 years in higher education accounting and budgeting, including the University of Wyoming prior to WSU.
Kelley started her career with Washington State University at the WSU Foundation in 2006. She has served as Budget Officer, Operating Budget Director and promoted to her current Executive Director role in 2018. Between 2018–20, she provided budget expertise to help implement a 3‑year initiative to right-size university budgets, including her service on the University Fiscal Health Advisory Committee beginning in 2018. By the end of FY20, the university had reversed its deficit spending and ended the year with a surplus.
Westhoff holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Northern Colorado, and certified public accountant license. Kelley’s affiliations include the National Association of College and University Business Officers, and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. She has enjoyed volunteering her time to campus events, including Move‑In Weekend and the All‑Campus Picnic.
The state of Washington has benefitted from Kelley’s leadership and passion for higher education. Please join us in wishing Kelley all the best in her retirement, effective early December 2023. WSU will launch a national search for Westhoff’s replacement.
