WSU Learning Innovations is accepting nominations for the seventh annual Oaks Academic Technology Award. Nominations will be accepted until March 22 at 11:59 p.m.
Academic Outreach & Innovation (AOI) established the Oaks Award in honor of the visionary leadership of Muriel Oaks, WSU Dean Emeritus.
This award is designed to recognize instructors for their innovative application of technology to transform teaching and learning in their classrooms. These days, “classrooms” include course spaces that are in‑person, videoconferenced, and online (synchronous or asynchronous). Last year, Joy Egbert, of the College of Education, was selected to receive the 2022 Oaks Academic Technology Award.
Instructors on any WSU campus who would like to be considered for the Oaks Award are encouraged to submit an application. You can self‑nominate, nominate a colleague, or encourage your colleagues to apply. Along with recognition, the award comes with $3,000 in faculty development funds, which will be distributed through the awardee’s academic department. To apply or learn more about the award, including the evaluation rubric, visit the Oaks award application web page.
