Life Sciences faculty and post-docs are encouraged to consider serving as judges Monday, March 27, for this year’s Showcase for Undergraduate Research and Creative Activities (SURCA). It is the only venue where undergraduates can present posters and talk about their mentored research, scholarship, and creative activities. More than 150 posters will be featured across nine SURCA categories.
Judging takes place in the CUB senior ballroom on the Pullman campus. Judges can review the abstracts of their assigned presenters online ahead of the event, and then visit assigned posters from 2–2:45 p.m. on the day of SURCA with no students present. From 2:45–4 p.m., judges have priority to talk to their presenters and use a rubric for evaluation. Scoring must be submitted by 4 p.m. using RocketJudge, but feedback can be turned in util 7 p.m. Judges are invited to the awards event starting at 5 p.m. in the CUB Auditorium.
Questions about SURCA and judging can be directed to the Office of Undergraduate Research, SURCA host.
