Oct. 28: Jean-Sabin McEwen to give Bose Lecture

Jean-Sabin McEwen will present this year’s Anjan Bose Lecture, titled, “Developing Multi-Scale Models of Catalytic Processes for Energy Applications” on Friday, Oct. 28, at 3:30 p.m. in the Engineering Teaching Research Laboratory 101 on the WSU Pullman campus and on Zoom. A reception will immediately follow in ETRL 119.

About McEwen 

Dr. Jean-Sabin McEwen is an Associate Professor of the Gene and Linda Voiland School of Chemical Engineering and Bioengineering and a Staff Scientist at the Pacific Northwest National Laboratory. Dr. McEwen won the NSF CAREER award in 2017 and was also named an influential early-career researcher by the American Chemical Society’s Industrial and Engineering Chemistry Research in 2018. He currently has 104 peer-reviewed publications with over 4000 citations. He serves as the Secretary of the Pacific Coast Catalysis Society and was president from 2019–2022. He also was previously a member of the Early Career Advisory Board of ACS Catalysis.

About the Anjan Bose Lecture 

The Anjan Bose Outstanding Researcher Award and Lectureship was created by the Voiland College of Engineering and Architecture Executive Leadership Board along with friends and alumni to honor Anjan Bose for his service to the college as dean. To acknowledge Bose’s support of faculty scholarship and to honor his internationally renowned reputation for research, the award annually recognizes and rewards the top faculty researcher in the college.
