Painted, carved, or baked in a pie, pumpkins are cheerful symbols of autumn that are grown in every county of Washington.

The WSU Eggert Family Organic Farm will host U-Pick pumpkin times over two weekends starting later this month. Visit the farm from 3 – 6 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 30 or from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 1. The farm will be open on the same times the next weekend, Oct. 7 and 8.

Proceeds go back into the farm, which provides WSU students a place for hands-on learning of organic farming practices.

Several varieties of pumpkins are available, including minis, pies, and jack-o-lanterns.

More details available on the farm’s website or on Facebook. Pumpkins are all pre-priced and can be purchased after picking on site.

The farm stand will also be open during the U-Pick times with a wide selection of fall crops including onions, shallots, potatoes, carrots, winter squash, and more. No pets allowed. Cards are preferred for payment.

The farm is located on Animal Science Rd., directly behind the WSU Bear Research, Education, and Conservation Center.
