Daniel J. Buysse, MD — University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine Endowed Chair in Sleep Medicine and Distinguished Professor of Psychiatry and Clinical and Translational Science — will be visiting WSU Spokane to present the SPRC 2022 Gregory L. Belenky Distinguished Lecture. His seminar entitled “Multidimensional Sleep Health: From Concept to Clinic” will be in person in the Spokane Academic Center room 241 and through Zoom on Thursday, Sept. 15, 12–1 p.m.
Dr. Buysse is past president of the American Academy of Sleep Medicine, past member of the Sleep Research Society Board of Directors, served as deputy editor of the journals SLEEP and Journal of Clinical Sleep Medicine, and associate editor of Behavioral Sleep Medicine. Dr. Buysse is a recipient of the Nathaniel Kleitman Distinguished Service Award from the American Academy of Sleep Medicine, the Mary A. Carskadon Outstanding Educator Award from the Sleep Research Society, the Peter Hauri Career Distinguished Achievement Award from the Society of Behavioral Medicine, and the Martica Hall Award in Sleep Medicine from the American Psychophysiological Society. Dr. Buysse has received NIH research funding from NIMH, NIA, NHLBI, NIDA, NCATS, and from PCORI. He has published over 400 peer-reviewed papers and over 100 invited articles.
