Volunteers sought for commencement ceremonies in Pullman

Volunteers are needed to assist with this spring’s commencement ceremonies on the Pullman campus.

Extra hands for event setup, distributing reader cards to students and helping guests find their seats are being sought for Friday, May 6 and Saturday, May 7. Those looking to assist the University Events team can fill out an online signup form.

Friday setup will run from 9 a.m. until 6 p.m. and volunteers are welcome to stop by anytime to lend a hand. Some 3,300 students are also expected to pick up reader cards Friday between 9 a.m. and 6 p.m., so the events team has set up three hour volunteer shifts to help with distribution. Volunteers are also needed for each of Saturday’s three commencement sessions.

WSU is not requiring proof of vaccination for those attending commencement ceremonies and masks are optional inside Beasley Coliseum. More information on commencement events is available online.

Drinks will be provided for volunteers Friday, with food and drink being provided to those volunteering Saturday.

Anyone with questions about volunteering or commencement events should email Events Manager Sarah Mahaffy.
