The President’s Commission on Gender Identity/Expression and Sexual Orientation (GIESO) is enthusiastically accepting applications and nominations for new members from all WSU campuses. Interested staff, faculty, graduate students, and undergraduate students are encouraged to apply. Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis. GIESO intends to have new members join by the September 2022 general assembly meeting.
GIESO is a dedicated group of staff, faculty, and students working to support the LGBTQ+ community in the Washington State University system. The Commission advises the President and Associate Vice President for Community, Equity, and Inclusive Excellence about the needs and concerns of campus communities relating to gender identity, gender expression, and sexual orientation. Additionally, GIESO designs and implements new initiatives through efforts with its subcommittees:
- Visibility/Programming/Recognition
- Recruitment/Retention
- Mentorship
The membership application is available online.
