MPS Seminar (MPS 515)
Hanu Pappu, Department of Plant Pathology, WSU, presents
“Exploring Plant-Virus Interactions in the Omics Era: What is the Host Plant Telling us?”
Hanu Pappu is the Samuel H. Smith Professor and the Chuey Endowed Chair, and a member of the MPS faculty. His research comprises of both fundamental and translational aspects of plant viruses and viral diseases. Ongoing projects include developing rapid molecular detection tools, virus elimination strategies, transcriptomic and metabolomic responses to virus infection, molecular epidemiology, and CRISPR-based genome editing approaches for virus resistance.
Besides research, Pappu serves as the plant pathology graduate coordinator, directs the Clean Dahlia Center, and teaches a graduate course in plant virology, and team teaches an undergraduate course in plant pathology, and a graduate course in plant pathology techniques.
