If you know a student who needs additional support this semester, please refer them to the Student Care Network.
The network supports students by intervening early when they are experiencing challenges and providing access to resources. Each WSU campus has a Student Care Team that can recommend local resources and support systems.
The Student Care Network (formerly the AWARE Network) can help with a variety of concerns, including a student’s well-being, behavior, academic performance, or access to financial, food, or housing assistance. You can refer a student on the network website; students can also request support for themselves.
Once you submit a referral, the student care team will contact you to talk about the situation, gather additional information, and identify the next steps. The team encourages you to share your contact information so they can collaborate with you on a response, but reports can be submitted anonymously.
Faculty and staff are uniquely positioned to identify potential problems students are facing and provide support. Please refer any students in need to the Student Care Network and help our Cougs succeed!
You can find tips on supporting students and a list of resources in the Helping Students in Distress guide. Academic support is available through the Office of the Provost’s Early Academic Referrals.
