Ensure correct taxes are withheld from your paycheck

Starting with the first paycheck in January 2022, state taxes will be automatically withheld from employee paychecks for employees who live in states with an income tax requirement.

It’s important to update your home address in Workday to ensure that the correct amount of state income tax is withheld. We have also reached out to HR Partners, who are responsible for updating employee work addresses and alternate work locations (for those working remotely) in Workday. Addresses can still be updated in Workday.

Employees who live or work in states other than Washington should also complete a W-4. The last day to complete W-4s is Jan. 1, 2022. W-4 changes cannot be backdated, so employees should use Jan. 1, 2022 as the effective date.

Visit the State Income Tax Project website for a project timeline and answers to frequently asked questions.
