SURCA 2022 open for undergraduate abstracts, judging sign ups

WSU undergraduates can submit abstracts now through Feb. 22 to present posters in person on March 28 at the annual Showcase for Undergraduate Research and Creative Activities (SURCA) 2022.

SURCA gives around 200 students from every major, campus, and year in college the chance to share the results of their mentored efforts that made original intellectual or creative contributions in their field. SURCA is overseen by the Office of Undergraduate Research, part of the Division of Academic Engagement and Student Achievement in the provost’s office.

Awards in each of nine categories will again be made to top presenters, possibly ranging from the novice to the highly experienced student researchers.

An online form on the SURCA website is also open for judges to sign up. About 200 faculty members, post-doctoral students, and community experts are needed to evaluate student presentations at SURCA.

SURCA is part of WSU Showcase. Showcase is a WSU tradition with several events spread across several days, including a poster session featuring research by faculty, staff, and graduate students. SURCA is the annual event for undergraduates.

The Notices and Announcements section is provided as a service to the WSU community for sharing events such as lectures, trainings, and other highly transactional types of information related to the university experience. Information provided and opinions expressed may not reflect the understanding or opinion of WSU. Accuracy of the information presented is the responsibility of those who submitted it. The self-uploaded posts are reviewed for compliance with state statutes and ethics guidelines but are not edited for spelling, grammar, or clarity.
