The Common Reading Program is hosting a screening of True Justice: Bryan Stevenson’s Fight for Equality on Wednesday, October 27, at 4:15 pm in CUE 203. The 2019 documentary focuses on the work of Alabama public interest attorney Bryan Stevenson, also founder and executive director of the Equal Justice Initiative which seeks to eradicate racial discrimination in the criminal justice system. An intimate portrait of this remarkable man, True Justice follows his struggle to create greater fairness in the system and shows how racial injustice emerged, evolved, and continues to threaten the country. Stevenson’s book Just Mercy was WSU’s 2015-2016 Common Reading. Hosted by the WSU Pullman Common Reading Program.
