Last call for nominations: WSU honorary doctoral degree

Tuesday, November 30, is the last day to nominate an extraordinary individual to receive a WSU honorary doctoral degree. Faculty, staff, and students are invited to submit nominations online.

The degree recognizes an individual who has made profound and enduring contributions to scholarship, culture, and quality of life for society at large. Previous recipients have included journalist Edward R. Murrow, Pulitzer Prize‑winning poet Carolyn Kizer, and former Spelman College president and WSU faculty member Johnnetta Cole.

The Honorary Doctoral Degrees Committee will review nominations and forward its recommendations to WSU President Kirk Schulz and the Faculty Senate Steering Committee.

The university will honor the new recipient at the Fall 2022 Commencement ceremony on the Pullman campus.
